Frying Pan Tower Offshore Overnight Trip

We don’t get to do many of these trips because the weather can be so hit or miss this time of year. When we get to do them we are super exicted because its such a cool trip. It really is something that cannot be experience anywhere else in the world and we are the only charter operation that is able to do it. We started out the first day bottom fishing, we caught all of normal suspects. Gag grouper, scamp grouper, red snapper, vermillion snapper, triggerfish and amberjacks! Once the guys had their fill of action we made our way back to the frying pan tower which is located about 35 miles offshore of the NC coast. We loaded up their things and sent them up to spend the night. They enjoyed a wonderful fish dinner and spent the evening hanging out with Richard the curator of the tower and exhanged stories. The next morning we arrived around 7:30am to pick them back up and do another full day of fishing. Today we were going to troll targetting mahi mahi, blackfin tuna and wahoo. We started out in 150ft of water and the action was steady! We picked away at really nice sized blackfin tuna and really nice sized mahi. Again the guys caught plenty of fish all day. We started to pick up everything around 3:00pm and headed back to the dock. We had a beautiful ride in to top off the trip.
