10 Hour Offshore Bottom Fishing - 08/21/2025

We were able to get one more offshore trip in this week before the swells and winds of Hurricane Erin began to sneak in on us. The weather was beautiful offshore and the guys had plenty of action on the bottom. We started off fishing some wrecks and live bottom in the 75-90 ft range, which provided plenty of opportunity with some amberjacks, and some undersized cobia. After everyone had their fair share of fun we pushed out a few more miles and ended up in about 100 feet of water. We were specifically targetting scamp grouper, triggerfish and vermilllion snapper. Again we had plenty of action, even catching some fish we weren't targeting. This time of year our season is closed for gag grouper and red snapper so we don't target them but we still catch them pretty regularly. Even though we weren't able to keep them to eat, there was plenty of other fish caught that made their way into the frying pan. The next couple of days we'll be stuck at the dock while the weather passes us, but hopefully we'll be back on the water soon. Give us a call to get out on the water and get in on some of the fun! - Capt. Austin
